Rotary Youth Exchange Steps

 
     
 

Long Term | Short Term

Steps for Long Term Exchange Students
  1. imageContact your local Rotary club to ensure the club will sponsor you as a Rotary Youth Exchange Student - click here

  2. Request that your sponsoring Rotary club call or email Linda Logan to inform her that the exchange is authorized and in progress.

  3. Complete the application form - click here
    Note: We are District 5300. Please indicate three country choices on the front of the application. Incomplete applications cannot be considered.

  4. NOTE: The student and parents / guardians should only complete page 1 of the Guarantee Form / Visa Application. You will NOT know which hosting country or district number to insert. Pay close attention to the date formats… they are European format.

  5. Return the application form with a $500 deposit check made payable to:

     “Rotary YES / SCANEX”
       c/o Linda Logan
       370 E. Rowland
       Covina, CA 91723

  6. DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: SEPTEMBER 30

You will be interviewed, then your application sent to the appropriate Country Coordinator for placement abroad. The earlier you submit your application, the better!

NOTE: The Rotary Youth Exchange Program is not a vacation. Each student is an ambassador of the United States and Rotary International. Youth Exchange students are expected to attend school on a regular basis, follow all rules of the exchange, the rules set by your host families, laws of the hosting country and adhere to the values your parents have instilled in you. In addition, the student is expected to participate in the events of the hosting Rotary Club and District. For more information - click here

Steps for Short Term Students
Short term exchange is a one-to-one exchange. Each student who travels abroad MUST be willing to host a student from his or her host family. No stipend is given from the hosting Rotary club.

  1. Contact your local Rotary Club to ensure the club will sponsor you as a Rotary Youth Exchange Student - click here
     
  2. Request that your sponsoring 
    Rotary club call or email Linda Logan     
    to inform her that the exchange is authorized and in progress. 
  3. Complete the application form - click here
